Anti Veg-F Intravitreal Injections
Anti-VEGF medication injection treatments for Wet Macular Degeneration
A common way to treat wet macular degeneration targets a specific chemical in your body that causes abnormal blood vessels to grow under the retina. That chemical is called vascular endothelial growth factor or VEGF. Several new drug treatments (called anti-VEGF drugs) have been developed for wet AMD that can block the trouble causing VEGF. Blocking VEGF reduces the growth of abnormal blood vessels, slows their leakage, helps to slow vision loss, and in some cases improves vision.
We administrate the anti-VEGF drug (such as Lucentis or Eylea) directly to your eye and this is performed as an outpatient procedure.
The Cork Eye Clinic administrate the highest number of injections given on a weekly basis in Cork

VIEW ALLWhat Our Patients Say
At 65, I now have better vision than when I was 17. I was required to wear glasses for driving (driver eye test). I now have 20/20 vision at a time in my life when I would be expected to be getting reduced vision.
This is all down to Mr. Behrooz Golchin's expert skill and care. I have had both my cataracts removed and a retinal tear repaired using laser surgery. Fantastic! Now, if I could find a Mr. Behrooz Golchin who specialised in weight management, I would be home and dry..
My sincere thank to Mr. Behrooz Golcin and his team. Keep up the good work!
