We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Rapid Access Eye Clinic (R.A.E.C) At the Cork Eye Clinic

Rapid Access Eye Clinic (R.A.E.C) provides patients with recently occurring medical eye conditions with an ophthalmological assessment within 24-48 hours. Appointments must be made by a GP or Optometrist only

Please note that we do not offer a Walk-in Clinic

  

Eye conditions treated in the R.A.E.C include:

  • Sudden reduction of vision in one or both eyes
  • Red eyes/lids
  • Painful/irritated/watering eyes
  • Recent onset of flashes and floaters
  • Suspect foreign body/eye infection
  • Recent onset diplopia


Eye conditions NOT treated in the R.A.E.C include:

  • Traumatic eye injury (penetration/blunt/lacerations)
  • Chemical eye injury/burn
  • Complications from recent eye surgery

Please advise patients to bring a list of current medications to the appointment along with their referral letter. Clinic contact hours: 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday
